Colored bubbles....

Colored bubbles always looked like so much fun.  We are HUGE bubble lovers in this family so it was just natural that we get some.  Big mistake!!  The ones we had are now in the garbage.  They say they are washable and I'm all for a good mess in the name of fun but these are horrible!  They wash out of skin pretty easy but not clothing.  From now on we'll stick with the good 'ole plain bubbles!
This picture pretty much says it all!

Father's Day

Today was Father's Day!  We had a full day planned.  Started off with Tristan taking a 2 hour nap in the morning.  He hadn't napped much the day before and we were out late the night before at a wedding reception so he was tired!  After  he woke up we decided to head over to Prairie for Rendezvous Days.  We walked through the flea market for a little bit.  Jackson went on an inflatable ride thing that he loved, he could climb up and slide down and bounce through it.  The guy running it even let him go through twice!  Grabbed some lunch and ate by the river.  This is one of our favorite places to hang out during the summer.  I think it's called St. Feriole Island.  Lots and lots of boats go by and it's really fun to just walk along the river and watch.
Daddy and his boys.
We had to make a quick stop at grocery store to pick up some sale items for vacation.  Then stopped at Dairy Queen for some ice cream!
Yummy!!
Mom and Dad were planning on opening up the campsite for the afternoon so we headed down there next.  We had to make a quick stop at Stark's for worms and a quick stop at home for some drinks and fishing poles.  I just love going to the campsite.  Mike was there too and also Jim and Diane.  There's just something about sitting by a fire surrounded by nature.  Love it!  Here a couple pictures of the fishing.
Tristan so very much wanted to fish.  It was pretty funny.  He knew that you take the pole and hold it over the water but of course couldn't quite figure it out from there.  The campsite overlooks the creek below and it's a pretty good dropoff.  I'm constantly terrified one of the boys is going to fall off.  Mom does a good job of leaving tall grass to mark the edge.
Love, love, LOVE this picture!!  Jackson was loving the fishing today.  It's pretty darn easy to catch chubbs here at the creek but every time he would catch one he would start screaming excitedly!  He will even hold the fish this year whereas last year he wouldn't even touch them.

Happy Father's Day!!

Sprinkler

It was extremely hot here today so we decided to get out the sprinkler.  Jackson LOVES the sprinkler and was very excited to help get it out.  Tristan on the other hand did not like it at all.  He was across the lawn from me after the sprinkler was turned on and for some reason thought he couldn't walk to me.  He stood there crying.  So Jackson helped him back to Mommy.
Cute!  I just love it when my boys act like they love each other!
After we got Tristan settled down Jackson went for it with the sprinkler.  All it really took for Tristan was some goldfish crackers.

Uff Da!

Today was St. Olaf's annual "Uff Da Daze"!  The day started out for us at 7:30am with the 5K Run/Walk.  I wasn't going to do it this year but some coworkers decided to so I tagged along.  Karsten had to work so I ended up with both boys.  Luckily my mom also ended up walking so she pushed Jackson in a stroller while I pushed Tristan.  There was also Cara and Oliver, and Roger and Debby.  It was a great walk!  The sun hadn't gotten out from the clouds yet so it wasn't even too hot.  After the walk we rewarded ourselves with bloody marys at Cara's house while the boys played.  After a quick trip home for a shower and short nap (for Tristan) we headed back over for the parade.  Jackson's friends Ella and Wes showed up, Wes was planning on riding in the firetruck with his uncle Putzer and he invited Jackson to go with!  Jackson didn't even hesitate!
He had a great time throwing out the candy!
Tristan easily figured out how to pick up all the candy.  He got a little help from Ella and Alice before Jackson and Wes came back.

Freezy pops!  Tristan LOVES these!
After the parade we had lunch then checked out the petting zoo.  Then they did the nickel in the haystack game.  Jackson patiently waited his turn for his age group and then he dug in...
Jackson showing off his winnings!  He was so proud!
